Babar Azam is the first batsman reach 5,000 runs in ODIs.

The Pakistani cricket team's captain, Babar Azam, has once again made history by shattering a global record in One Day International (ODI) play.

Babar made history by being the player to reach 5,000 runs in ODI cricket the quickest, doing it in only 97 innings, during the fourth ODI match against New Zealand on Friday in Karachi.

Given that it took the previous record holder, Hashim Amla, 101 innings to accomplish the same number, this is a fantastic accomplishment.

The fastest hitter to 5,000 ODI runs is currently Babar, who is followed on the list by Hashim Amla (101), Viv Richards (114), Virat Kohli (114), and David Warner (115).

12000 international runs, almost missing Virat Kohli's record.

A the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Babar scored 49 runs in the first ODI match against New Zealand, achieving a historic performance.

The 28-year-old required 277 international innings to reach the milestone, compared to 276 for India's great batsman.
